Greetings. Words, words, and more words.  That is what the UFO subculture has to work with in its never-ending attempt to prove the case for alien visitation. In all actuality, the subculture is not attempting anything of the sort, for their collective minds are already made up, with an unshakable faith in the unconfirmed, the unsubstantiated. Claims of alien abduction, alien visitation, and of crash retrievals, recovered non-terrestrial technology, and non-terrestrial organic material have been around for decades now, but where is the evidence? Nowhere, for such evidence has never come to light, but the words keep on meandering down the UFO road. Witness testimonials rule the UFO roost, held in high regard and seen as evidence by a good majority of those in the UFO arena, but is such content evidence? In a word, no. Greetings. Skepticism is not seen as a popular course of action by the majority of the UFO subculture, in fact, it is often vilified or erroneously labeled as debunking. The effort to ask questions and inquire about the validity of claims, evidence, and information is an essential one, absolutely necessary if credible and legitimate investigations are to be conducted.  Despite what many in the UFO world seem to believe, people do misidentify phenomena they have the opportunity to observe. Happens all the time, and not just to alleged UFO witnesses. Ask any law enforcement officer, or district attorney. They will often lament the exact same situation; people are often not capable of making accurate accounts and observations. That is a primary reason why crime scene investigators take great pains to determine the validity, or lack thereof, of any and all anecdotal information at their disposal. The mystery surrounding unidentified flying objects remains unsolved, but not unsolvable.  Any examination of the history of the UFO topic demonstrates a few definitive points which cannot be avoided or defeated.  1. No physical, tangible, falsifiable proof or evidence has been discovered to prove the case for alien visitation, or any other unlikely, non-mundane explanation. 2. Various world governments have not been completely open concerning what they may or may not know about the UFO topic.  3. Some of those same world governments have not been completely transparent concerning recovered physical evidence they may or may not have in their possession.  4. The UFO subculture has become its own worst enemy, embracing beliefs and positions that are supported by untrue, invalid, or inaccurate information, and are completely wanting of any valid supportive proof or evidence.  5. Greetings. Every segment of human society has its share of "out of the ordinary" individuals. Such people can be, and often are, highly intelligent and insightful members of our society who simply think outside the box, having an ability to use their active imaginations in a logical, scientific, and measured manner. Greetings. Why are so many people in the UFO subculture so uncomfortable considering questions? Why are such inquiries looked at in such a disparaging manner? When considering unanswered or undetermined unknowns and/or possibilities, the asking of questions is essential, absolutely so. That effort should be applied during the course of investigations and when conducting background examinations into people of some notoriety or importance to said investigations. The herculean effort to uncover valid evidence and information is part of any and all legitimate investigative process.  However, in the UFO subculture, the aforementioned approach is not popular, in fact the opposite course of action is what usually occurs. If people were more comfortable asking questions or accepting quality, accurate information, individuals who have been less than candid or honest would not continue to be embraced or held in high regard by the UFO masses. Greetings. Mr. Richard Dolan is one of the most well-known figures in the UFO subculture. Known as a historian of the UFO topic, Mr. Dolan has commented at length about the UFO problem on various platforms, on broadcast media, during his own show, and on various social media outlets.  Mr. Dolan is a highly active participant on the UFO circuit, making appearances at many UFO themed festivals and conferences, actively promoting himself throughout. Now the simple act of promotion is not necessarily a negative course of action, but it is strongly suggestive of a change of course. In UFO circles, the act of self-promotion is a slippery slope, one that many well-known public figures have fallen into, some seemingly by accident, others by choice. Greetings. The process of exploring outer space offers some amazing rewards, and some daunting challenges. Let's take a look at some potentialities.  As the space age dawned, it quickly became apparent that the roads ahead were peppered with unforseen roadblocks, above and beyond the technical challenges we were already painfully aware of. The situation has not changed. Starting with the efforts of Robert Goddard, Hermann Oberth, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Wernher von Braun, and Robert Esnault-Pelterie, the space age dawned, and our collective abilities have improved as the decades have passed. By the 1960's substantial progress had been made towards placing humans in space, under the guise of Mercury, Vostok, Gemini, Voskhod, Apollo, and Soyuz.
