Where is the Evidence??

Greetings. The search for tangible evidence for alien visitation goes on, and on, and on. Unfortunately, not much evidence has turned up, just a massive cache of witness testimonials, some of which are of a high quality and first-hand in nature.

Now I must make my own position known on the question before proceeding. I feel that alien visitation has indeed occurred, although only on a few rare occasions. However, my own position is not the focus of this writing, an honest assessment of the available evidence is. After decades of searching, and decades of research, what have investigators found, beyond the anecdotal? Not much, not much at all to be perfectly honest.

We have taken and chronicled some radiation measurements that have confirmed the reality of some reported events; the Rendlesham Forest events in Great Britain from late December of 1980 come to mind. We have taken photographs of soil indentations that suggest some direct interaction with artificially constructed technologies; the Socorro, New Mexico landing event from April 24th of 1964 comes to mind. We have collected soil samples that confirm that some anomalous activity has taken place, the Delphos, Kansas event from November 2nd of 1971 comes to mind. We have radar traces and reports that strongly suggests out of the ordinary activity in the skies over the planet, Great Britain's Lakenheath/Bentwaters radar/visual event from August 13th and 14th of 1956 comes to mind. All robust historical cases, all worthy of further examination. None proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be alien visitation events.

There are a few other historical cases that offer the opportunity for the collection of tangible evidence of alien visitation, or other anomalous phenomena. Obviously the Roswell, New Mexico case from July 1947 comes to mind, but there are others of some note. The legend of the Aurora, Texas crash from April 17th of 1897 comes to mind. Here we have an alleged event which describes an unidentified flying object crashing into a windmill, and coming to rest on the ground. Outstanding opportunities for the recovery of physical evidence, but alas, nothing has surfaced. No spacecraft debris. No windmill debris. No samples of debris from the direct interaction of the alleged craft with the windmill or with the ground below. Nothing.

The Aurora legend tells of the pilot/occupant of the spacecraft being buried at the local cemetery, with the headstone being stolen at some point in the decades after the alleged event. Again, an outstanding opportunity for the recovery of physical evidence, but alas, nothing has surfaced. No body. No sign of anything alien in origin. Nothing. However, here we have the opportunity to put everything to rest. An opportunity to put up or shut up. If an alien pilot/occupant is indeed buried in the Aurora cemetery, have the grave exhumed. That would answer all our questions, and isn't that why we are all here? We want to know. Unfortunately, as before, no dice. The grave has never been exhumed, so nobody knows what it contains, if anything.

Some points need to be made here:
1. Nothing alien has been found at Aurora, Texas.
2. The grave of the alleged alien pilot/occupant has never been exhumed.
3. Nothing physical has turned up that has been scientifically proven to be non-terrestrial in origin, or in other words, extraterrestrial.
4. As a direct result of the lack of tangible evidence, or any scientific examinations having been conducted, nobody can make a defensible declaration about the Aurora, Texas case being an example of alien visitation.

When will the UFO subculture cease making declarations about cases being alien visitation events despite a lack of anything other than unsubstantiated stories? Never.

My position on the Aurora, Texas crash case? Hoax.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    1. Sincerest thanks. I wish the situation was different, but the lack of evidence is something we have to live with, at least till' something changes.

  2. Since the headstone has been moved I don't think they could ever find the grave.

    1. Some "researchers" have claimed to have located the specific gravesite, using old photographs of the cemetery. It may have been located, but it has never been exhumed, so we still don't know if anything is in the ground.

Liars, Frauds, and Misrepresenters.

Greetings. I am occasionally asked why I write about so many of the troubling issues within the UFO subculture. One reason, actually two. One, because the troubling issues exist, and I cannot in good conscience simply ignore them. Two, I am passionate about the UFO question, and I care deeply about the integrity of the entire UFO subculture, even though I am not an active participant in the movement.  There are many outstanding people involved in UFO research, individuals with integrity, an unshakable commitment to the work, and a high level of professionalism. They consistently grind the research stone in the never-ending effort to solve, or at the very least, learn about the UFO problem and it's innumerable questions. I cannot offer enough kind words of support and encouragement to those people, they are all deserving of our accolades, for they conduct their workmanlike efforts behind the scenes, without attention, out of the limelight, and beyond the prying eyes of the UFO subcu

Cringeworthy Promotion, Dolan Style.

Greetings. Mr. Richard Dolan is one of the most well-known figures in the UFO subculture. Known as a historian of the UFO topic, Mr. Dolan has commented at length about the UFO problem on various platforms, on broadcast media, during his own show, and on various social media outlets.  Mr. Dolan is a highly active participant on the UFO circuit, making appearances at many UFO themed festivals and conferences, actively promoting himself throughout. Now the simple act of promotion is not necessarily a negative course of action, but it is strongly suggestive of a change of course. In UFO circles, the act of self-promotion is a slippery slope, one that many well-known public figures have fallen into, some seemingly by accident, others by choice. Mr. Dolan seems to have chosen his course of action, and is apparently quite comfortable in his new surroundings.   Some UFO researchers have lost their professional credibility and integrity in the name of fame, notoriety, and financial gain. MUFON: Peddling Nonsense or Unknowingly Ignorant?

Greetings. The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) was once a legitimate investigative organization. Back in the 1970's, the organization worked alongside, but not in cooperation with, the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO) and the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP.) By the 1990's, MUFON was the only game left in town, with APRO and NICAP having passed into UFO history. In recent years, the organization's focus has shifted away from UFO investigations towards the UFO entertainment industry and the nonsensical content it embraces. The organization has experienced several setbacks in recent years, self-inflicted wounds that tended to occur at the upper echelons of the organization, with the names Jan Harzan, John Ventre, and Steve Hudgeons immediately coming to mind. Despite this situation, there are several local chapters that have maintained a level of investigative focus and legitimacy, keeping the chaos of the higher organization at arm's
