The Hoffman Maneuver: Narrative Control on Full Display.

Greetings. Rich Hoffman, an Executive Board Member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies. Now that we have the necessary introduction completed, let's proceed with the examination. 

According to the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies' own website:

"Rich Hoffman has a BA in Organizational Communications from Wright State University. He is an Information Technology consultant and strategist. He has worked as a defense contractor for over 20 years, working primarily for the Army Materiel Command HQ with a variety of companies. Currently, Mr. Hoffman works as an Enterprise Architect at Redstone Arsenal and the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He has over 54 years of experience investigating and researching the UFO subject. Mr. Hoffman has served as Director of Investigations, Star Team Manager and Director of Strategic Projects, as well as the State Director of MUFON and worked with numerous organizations." 

Despite his long history in the UFO subculture, Mr. Hoffman's history of actions have been less than defensible, which is being kind and against my nature. 

In June of 2024, an article that strongly criticized some of the activities of the SCU was published on Facebook, a piece that Mr. Hoffman erroneously thought was my own composition. Not soon thereafter, my wife, Venus Miranda, the President of the San Antonio Aerial Phenomena Research Organization, received some messages from Mr. Hoffman. It was plainly apparent that he was greatly disturbed by the content of the article, subsequently reaching out to Venus to inquire if she would make me unpublish the post in question. 

Fact is, my wife Venus authored the treatise, which was an outstanding expose on the issues as play. Once Mr. Hoffman was made aware of this, he withdrew all of his complaints with dispatch. Evidently the content of the article was not the ultimate source of his agitations, with my alleged authorship being the solitary impetus of his professional discomfort. Beyond the suspicious focus of his complaints, the concerted efforts to control the public narrative place the efforts of the SCU, and many other organizations, firmly in ufological question. Why are so many individuals and organizations so reticent to face reasonable scrutiny? Why are so many in UFO circles so unwilling to face direct and warranted public criticism? Why are UFO organizations, the majority of which being nonprofits, so vehemently opposed to transparency? 

The prodigious lengths some organizations and their representatives will go to control the public narrative speak volumes.

    Mr Pullin with whom I earlier had a good relationship with to include Venus has some preoccupation with targeted attacks that are dishonest, inflammatory and merely illuminates his desire to attack character was the reason for my inquiry since now attacking me in his blog. Its a simple case of a finger pointing at one person with three fingers pointing back at himself. I personally do not care to engage in this unprofessional behavior, but he chooses to do this likely for self promotion. Anyone who knows me and knows my character check with Venus. I will expect yet another blog attack on myself or MUFON in his next 100 posts.

Andre Skondras: A Furuncle on the Arse of Ufology.

Greetings. Andre Skondras. An irritating boil on the ass of ufology. An individual who deflects and directs. Or at least attempts to.  I have had the "pleasure" of encountering this particular piece of excrement only occasionally on social media, but recent events took that to an entirely new level. My wife, Venus Miranda, and I are administrators of several Facebook groups, mostly focused on the UFO problem and its attached subculture. A few weeks ago, Mr. Skondras joined our "Is Ufology Dead? A Candid Consideration" and promptly began to commence bullying and directing the other members. Hitchens' Razor: Kyptonite for the Fringe Communities.

Greetings. Hitchens' Razor. Hitchens' razor is an epistemological razor that serves as a general rule for rejecting certain knowledge claims. The razor states: "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence." The razor is credited to author, critic, and journalist Christopher Eric Hitchens. It declares that the burden of proof regarding a claim lies squarely with the individual making the claim. If this burden is not satisfied, then the claim is deemed to be unfounded, and its opponents need not argue further in order to dismiss it. Hitchens used the phrase specifically in the context of refuting religious belief.
