The Faceless Ones: Devoid of Balls and Intrepidity.

Greetings. Tom Vance. A name that could apply to any of a number of gutless individuals, people who are unable to view contrarian opinions as for what they are, simply opinions that paddle against the torrential currents of the echo chamber that controls the UFO theater. 

Now while the specifics are not important, certainly not to those individuals who make such ill-informed and embarrassing statements, the words speak volumes. A recent interaction I had with a Mr. Tom Vance on the Center for UFO Studies' Facebook page demonstrates the level of ignorance and stupidity displayed by many people in today's society.  

The interaction proceeded as follows:

Vance: "by using the tinfoil hat reply, makes your comment negative - and thereby moot as no one will deal with you seriously. The mere fact hundreds of NJ reports we filed where the Drones looked like airliners but were not full sized airliners though some photos actually looked like 737s when they were not, should be taken serious,,,,,,what research have you done William....and 2) in March 13th, 1997, the Phoenix Lights event was witnessed by thousands upon thousands of people from Henderson Nevada all the way to Casa Grande AZ, of a HUGE object in the sky most claiming the object to be 1 mile wide, Film producer James Fox made the " I know what I saw" Documentary movie, have you seen it? and 3) you seem to be one of many people who have shown up on FB UFO research pages only to comment negatively....which I feel is a directed Govt Operation.......are you part of that? For years Ive been following most UFO pages that have thousands of members with 2-3 only typing in comments weekly....then just recent, there is a HUGE amount of comments posting all negative answers,,,its obvious to me there is a Operation going on to disuade interest.......what is your answer, on your research qualifications?"

Pullin: "If you don't like my comment, take a number, get in line, and kiss my ass."

Pullin: "Additionally, who do I have to be? I have the right to comment as I see fit, it is called freedom of speech. I encourage you to conduct your own research, into my page and groups and decide for yourself. If that does not satisfy you, then keep your number in line and read tonight's article about your comments here Sir."

Vance: "Im going to love to check into your tinfoil hat comment and do like wise....1 point you get is you do not believe in God, but the rest makes you sound like Phillip J Klass....this biggest A-hole disinfo Agent of all time but seems like you have that covered."

Pullin: "Evidently you don't have the ability to spell or use correct capitalization, so you have that covered Sir."

So what do the above comments suggest? 

1. The fact that contrarian points of view are labeled as negative, when they are simply opposing in nature. The ufological echo chamber at work. 

2. That some idiots actually believe that others with opposing points of view, in this case yours truly, are part of a directed government operation. Talk about paranoid and completely in error. Almost laughable. 

3. That research qualifications, in the opinion of Mr. Vance, are the only thing that would allow for an acceptable piece of commentary. Everyone has the right to participate in public platforms, period. Anything less is a form of fascism. 

4. That the ability to utilize correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization escapes many people today, including Mr. Vance. Unfortunate.

5. That I have become intolerant of ignorance and stupidity, and have made the choice to embrace a far more belligerent approach to writing. If anyone has an issue with my professional decision, they have the right to not read my articles, or to write articles themselves, to hold me accountable for my indiscretions.

Andre Skondras: A Furuncle on the Arse of Ufology.

Greetings. Andre Skondras. An irritating boil on the ass of ufology. An individual who deflects and directs. Or at least attempts to.  I have had the "pleasure" of encountering this particular piece of excrement only occasionally on social media, but recent events took that to an entirely new level. My wife, Venus Miranda, and I are administrators of several Facebook groups, mostly focused on the UFO problem and its attached subculture. A few weeks ago, Mr. Skondras joined our "Is Ufology Dead? A Candid Consideration" and promptly began to commence bullying and directing the other members. Hitchens' Razor: Kyptonite for the Fringe Communities.

Greetings. Hitchens' Razor. Hitchens' razor is an epistemological razor that serves as a general rule for rejecting certain knowledge claims. The razor states: "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence." The razor is credited to author, critic, and journalist Christopher Eric Hitchens. It declares that the burden of proof regarding a claim lies squarely with the individual making the claim. If this burden is not satisfied, then the claim is deemed to be unfounded, and its opponents need not argue further in order to dismiss it. Hitchens used the phrase specifically in the context of refuting religious belief.
