The Ross Williams Syndrome.

Greetings. Conducting some cursory research used to be a commonplace occurrence. That particular ship has sailed into oblivion.

Mr. Ross Williams, if that is his real name, recently left behind the comment pictured above attached to a post on X (Twitter) which was made by Expanding Frontiers Research. The post was focused on the sentencing of Jan Harzan, the former International Director of the Mutual UFO Network, and recently, a convict.

The post as it appears on X reads as follows: https://x.com/EFResearch_/status/1817229595193581879?t=qYPmlQG817Pa9_6LWECWQw&s=19

Immediately following the initial post on X, an additional post was made, one that addressed Mr. Williams' comment. It reads as follows: https://x.com/EFResearch_/status/1817255737158250746?t=qYPmlQG817Pa9_6LWECWQw&s=19

Now to be perfectly clear, Mr. Williams' comment was not directed at yours truly. However, upon reading the comment, I felt compelled to write up my thoughts on the "contribution" and its merits, or lack thereof.

So, where should I begin? Firstly, it is typical of many on social media who make abhorrent, amateurish, or nonsensical comments to have profiles void of any details, making it quite convenient to hide behind their perspective keyboards while spreading their excrement. No profile picture. No specific details. Just a bland and empty account which provides a platform to make idiotic statements. Secondly, the initial post made by Expanding Frontiers Research contained a link to all the important information specific to the Harzan case, so the ball was left in Mr. Williams' court, a ball that Mr. Williams' promptly fumbled out of bounds. Typical in today's environment.

Have we arrived at a point in time where people cannot conduct their own research? Even when accurate information is provided, many people choose to ignore it, quickly moving past any research effort to board the ship of misinformation and confirmation bias, a ship they were likely already a crew member of. Conspiracy theories rule the day, with reasonable conclusions taking a back seat on almost every turn, and around every corner. At times, it is embarrassing to be a member of the human race.

Whatever happened to drawing conclusions from evidence? It looks as if that approach has gone the way of the Passenger Pigeon, into extinction as a result of our own behavior, and our own pre-conceived biases. All the available information leads to the conclusion that Mr. Harzan committed a crime, and was duly convicted for it. Mr. Williams stated, and I quote "Why is he being sentenced? Did he commit a crime or did he get framed?" Framed? What information makes Mr. Williams believe that particular opinion? Since Mr. Williams provided no information to support his embarrassing claim, we can find comfort and solace that his statement is simply a pile of steamy excrement, and nothing more.
