An Uninformed Little Bird.

Greetings. Candid discussions. Civil interactions. Open considerations. All productive courses of action. All offering a chance for the advancement of knowledge and the addressing of important issues. Unfortunately, some people are not comfortable with such activities, and only do so in safe, confined environments.

David Fritz, of Consultants of Paranormal Research Organization (COPRO) is one such individual. A recent post, dated February 9th of 2024, that appeared on the San Antonio Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (SAPRO) Facebook page, was shared on Mr. Fritz's personal Facebook page. Instead of commenting directly on the SAPRO page, an action which would have reached over 5,378 people, the following that SAPRO currently has, Mr. Fritz commented in a safe environment, his personal page. The exchange of ideas and opinions should occur on open, public platforms, so that all points of view can be heard and considered, instead of on a closed platform that only offers confirmation, and no contrary angles, no opposing views. Now to be clear and accurate, the privacy setting used by Mr. Fritz in sharing the post in question was set to public, but that does not really address the situation, for one would have to know Mr. Fritz by name to see the post. That limits the exposure, and by definition, the possibility of productive interaction.

The post in question can be found on the San Antonio Aerial Phenomena Research Organization's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/QBT79MjWrt8Dp8e2/?mibextid=oFDknk

Mr. Fritz's comment reads, and I quote "Mufons security and integrity is intact. Despite what little birds like to chirp or think they know!" Call me strange, and I have been called many things in my day, but it seems to me that calling someone a "little bird" is just a bit childish and uneducated. It seems to me that an informed and measured comment would have been in order, an opinion that would move the conversation forward, but apparently that never occurred to Mr. Fritz. Now, to be fair to Mr. Fritz, he does have a Blogger account, but the blog has only seven entries, the last dated to February 20th of 2011. Not exactly an active platform to say the least.

Back to Mr. Fritz's comment, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) is a complete mess, not an investigative organization, but a money-making business. The recent hacking of MUFON's UFO sighting report files speaks volumes about the organization, and demonstrates that the "security" of the organization is obviously an issue. If MUFON's security was intact, in the words of Mr. Fritz, the hack would not have occurred in the first place. Any examination of the recent history of MUFON definitively proves that their professional integrity has flown the UFO coop. Ever hear of Jan Harzan? Ever hear of John Ventre? The objective truth hurts. I don't know what information Mr. Fritz has examined to arrive at his opinions about MUFON, but his conclusions are completely wrong. In fact, his rhetoric is reminiscent of many individuals within the ranks of MUFON, the childish name-calling behaviors of Bob Spearing, Steve Hudgeons, and the Texas State Director Melanie Young. All abhorrent, all amateurish, all embarrassing.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

  1. You know more about Spearing and Hudgeons than I do, but I can say this, inside the one year I was in MUFON and became F.I., I certainly ran up against these two. Both were testy. i could tell you more privately.
